Where Did Sabbath Go?

For those of you that were following my blogs on "Sabbath Keeping" . Sorry for the delay...I am not going to catch up you up to chapter 7 BUT I do want to share with you what I feel is the underlying concept of this book...and quite honestly what should be the underlying driver for our lives!

NURTURING TRANSFORMATION...in ourselves and others

Pg 113:

"When we do something over and over, we are changed. When we exercise regularly,we become for fit. When we choose to express Thankfulness consistently to God or the people around us, gratitude grows in our hearts. When we observe a sabbath with joy, over months and years our trust the God runs the universe increases. We become more aware of what we are called to do and not do. We rest in God’s grace more easily."

I love that it end’s by saying "more easily" and not "perfectly".

The book goes on to say," I choose to obey God because I long to be the person he created me to be."..."The goal of sabbath keeping is not to get it right the first time or even to get it right over time."

But to continually seek TRANSFORMATION!

I usually fill this space with my words…but the book said it so well, why muddy it up?

PS We are suppose to help each other in our transformation but underlining sections of the book and telling your spouse they may need to read this section…may not be effective.

***The image above is our Sabbath table from last week. Nothing fancy...Gnocci soup, bread, grape juice and my fancy plastic "lace looking" table cloth. The kids love the chance to blow out candles...and I love the chance to watch my kids. It doesn't take time to make moments...it is moments like these that stop time!
