
Sunday morning, as I sifted through my purse for a pen, papers and toys falling out on the floor, I began to wonder where all the garbage in my purse came from.
My last purse's strap had torn off so I knew this collection of stuff was only a week old?? (FYI I should have taken the broken strap as a clue)
How does this happen?
As a Mom of three, I am keeper of the junk: Coupons, receipts, Legos and hair clips, pens, pencils and pet rocks. Stomach helpers, band aids, mints for bad breath and kid activities for long waits.
By the end of most weeks I have items bulging from every section of my purse and wonder why I have a permanent indent in my shoulder.
Unfortunately, until just recently, I treated my body the same way.
I would start the week out with meal plan in place, stocked refrigerator and the best of intentions. My yoga workout would happen til Tuesday, maybe Wednesday and making time to feed my mind was lucky to happen more than once a week.
Why Can I Not Maintain A Routine?
Because making permanent life style changes are HARD TO START!
It took me having an environmental catastrophe in my home to see that my "purse" was over flowing! But once I saw what a difference these changes could make it has helped me stay motivated.
I am still not perfect...nor will I ever be, but I now have my eyes open.
In many ways my new purse is very fitting example for my new life style. My new purse still gets full, as does my life, but I am aware that I can clean the purse out everyday if I need to and start again!
